Pilot Plant Technician

In this role you will be performing various testing procedures in a laboratory environment for quality assurance.
You should be familiar with the use of standard and industry specific laboratory equipment.
Record keeping is important of your analyses and test.
Job Description and Requirements:
Has demonstrated technical excellence (or previously demonstrated competence) in assigned operating area; understands the intrinsic characteristics of processes beyond the pipes and valves.
Able to train up to entry level technicians Works without close supervision.
May be a Lead Technician on a specific project and valued as such by customers.
Knowledge and application of basic statistics.
Good report writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:
Performs routine & non-routine equipment and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
Operates equipment and instrumentation without supervision Maintains good documentation, i.
e.
, SOPs, run-sheets, etc.
Recognizes abnormal, atypical operation or data; brings to the attention of appropriate supervision Supports general operations:
identification and communication of supply shortages, ordering materials, area cleanup, etc.
Can correlate process changes or upsets to likely source.
Identifies and works on special projects of a smaller scope.
Knows and practices good safety habits.
Capable of leading pre-startup safety reviews Conducts effective meetings.
Performs basic mass balances, accounting for all materials into and out of the process.
Accurately executes partly/generally defined experiments; writes experimental plan; identifies and implements improvements.
Creates and manages SOPs; submits SOPs changes to area supervisor or lead technician for final approval.
